The method of winding varies with the type of steel strap dispenser (e.g. coil stand) used. The specifications of the steel strap are determined primarily by the application requirements, the method of binding used with the customer’s binding machine, and the size. The following introduces specifications appropriate for representative usage requirements.
The most common winding method. The steel strap is cut to the desired length. Most suited to manual binding.

Oscillating rolls are wound for longer, reducing the frequency of reel replacement until the limit is reached. Coils weigh in excess of 200 kg, and are therefore used in fully automated applications.
